At least for a short while, I will be switching solely to telehealth (video and phone chats) to care for my clients while we deal with the COVID-19 issue. I am currently following the lead of Leander Independent School District here in Texas, as they are responsible for a large portion of my clients; they are hopeful to be back at school by Monday, April 6th, 2020, and I am hopeful to be back in my offices by then as well, if not sooner! I will not be in either office, though, starting Monday, March 23rd, 2020.
Simple Practice, the software I use for notes, billing, et cetera, has made it easier on me during this time by providing web services that assist myself and my clients in making the transition as smooth as possible. Since I will not have to commute, I have expanded my available hours from 11amCST to 8pmCST Monday through Friday to accommodate my clients as best as possible. I know, however, that telehealth will not be ideal for everyone, and I will be available to do what I can to help everyone that reaches out about alternatives. I cannot, in good conscience, continue to use frequently shared spaces during a time when there are too many unknowns.
Because I will be doing telehealth only, I will have a few openings for clients (ages 10 and up) in the state of Texas if they are in need of a counselor. I do accept some insurance plans, including BlueCross BlueShield of Texas, Cigna, United, and Magellan. The link to my client portal is here. If you have any questions, please use the Contact Form.
